Today's Sermon , "Love Thy Enemy"

What a great day to wake up and thank the Lord for another day!  This is the day that we can say "Thank you Jesus!" for being alive and get to spend time with Him, the family, and friends at the church!

For today's sermon, I will be preaching on the topic, " Love Thy Enemy".  This will be a sermon that will make us all think of how we should treat our enemies, those who have hurt us in all forms,  through the Word of God.

Love your enemy and pray for this person no matter how badly he or she may treat you.  Even God sends rain on those who are good or bad.  God still loves them no matter what.

Matthew 5:43-48

Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)

Love Your Enemies

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[a] and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies. Pray for those who treat you badly. 45 If you do this, you will be children who are truly like your Father in heaven. He lets the sun rise for all people, whether they are good or bad. He sends rain to those who do right and to those who do wrong. 46 If you love only those who love you, why should you get a reward for that? Even the tax collectors do that. 47 And if you are nice only to your friends, you are no better than anyone else. Even the people who don’t know God are nice to their friends. 48 What I am saying is that you must be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Matthew 5:43-48

King James Version (KJV)
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

God bless you all!
